This time of year the AIDS Committee of York Region presents the Red for Change campaign, an ongoing crusade to build awareness and fight stigma against HIV. Since 2014 I have been involved in running this campaign and working with volunteers, partners, friends, businesses and organizations putting together photos and displays, and I have been proud.

Spreading awareness and trying to fight the stigma and misconceptions that exist can be more difficult than any other challenge facing HIV. But every year, I see a little more acceptance, a little more understanding. While I know that the battle still remains, and it is uphill, seeing community spirit and support, makes it worthwhile. It is encouraging and it is exciting!

#Red4Change. A Social Media campaign leading up to World AIDS Day on December 1st. Spread the knowledge and help educate. Be a part of a better and positive change.
