Holiday Care Program
At a time of year when family and community come together to celebrate, the reality of daily poverty and isolation is even more pressing for many of our service users. This program directly supports needs of low-income individuals and families in York Region. Our plans are to distribute holiday hampers that include such things as scarves, gloves, toques, mittens and other warm items; as well as gift cards to help with purchasing groceries and other necessities
Donate a gift card or cash/cheque to make the holidays brighter for families in need in York Region.

Tax receipts are available for donations greater than $20.

What types of gifts are expected?
This year, we are asking for donations in the form of gift cards or monetary donations/cheques. Gift cards for grocery stores, Walmart and pharmacies are very popular requests. Physical in-kind gifts are also welcomed, please contact us for specifics.

Do I package or wrap the gifts and donations myself?
No, please leave gifts unwrapped. CAYR will handle the wrapping process. If you would like to include wrapping paper or a gift bag with your donation, we will wrap the item(s) for you.
