Mmm mmm good!
In one word, what makes the world go around? Some may say money, love, people… how about food?
Hope made delicious is the slogan for this wonderful event, A Taste for Life, and it incorporates all of those words mentioned above.
This awesome and annual one-day event includes working in partnership with restaurants in the York Region area who will graciously donate twenty-five percent of their lunch and/or dinner sales toward the work of the AIDS Committee of York Region. All funds raised help us provide support and dignified care for people affected by HIV/AIDS in York Region.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Upon visiting one of the participating restaurants, (during evening hours) not only do patrons get to enjoy a great meal, but also take part in and bid on silent auction items. Again, generous donations given to help raise funds.
All money raised goes toward programs that include wellness groups for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, condom dispensaries, counselling and case management, as well as the Drive to Care service that we provide which transports clients to medical appointments.
Visit http://www.atasteforlife.org/ for information on how to make reservations or to learn about the history of this great event and see all of the participating locations.
Dining out and doing good; what a wonderful combination. The concept is simple, the cause is great, and the benefits to all involved are many.
