It’s about advocacy;
It’s about acceptance;
It’s about change;
We need to change our outlook and ideas.
The AIDS Committee of York Region holds an annual #RedforChange campaign to promote awareness and fight the surrounding stigma of HIV and/or AIDS.
ACYR has found a lot of support over the years through this campaign. I am thrilled every year to see what new things come, and yet every year I kind of think to myself, “I want to do more”.
The Red for Change Campaign is about showing support through pictures of red, showing red and wearing red. These pictures are shared on social media for anyone watching; the public at large can sneak a peek.
There are no limits and I am grateful, as is the entire ACYR team, to everyone who contributes and takes part.
Red for change will truly be achieved when the concept of ‘change’ is accepted by everyone. And not just showing it, but living and believing in it.
The campaign will run from now, the last few days of November, up to and including World AIDS Day on December 1st; where we will celebrate, acknowledge, and reflect. To join us, visit: https://tinyurl.com/y3j6bqos
